What decision does this help answer?

Can a two-model route reduce cost while maintaining enough successful outcomes?

Calculation and methodology

Assign a share of requests directly to a stronger model and send the remainder to a smaller model first. If the small-model attempt fails, optionally invoke the stronger model on a user-defined fraction of failures. Calculate expected per-request cost and success probability under independent outcomes. Show a baseline using the stronger model for every request.

Limitations and responsible interpretation

Model success rates must come from evaluations on the same task mix. The tool does not validate model capabilities, dynamic routing errors, tail latency or correlated failure modes. Cross-model fallback can change quality and user experience; estimates are not performance benchmarks.
